So ah, just got a program off the internet that rips DVDs and so I thought I'd put up the full birthday video that Karina and I made for Min-Yee's 18th last year as requested by a couple of people.
Ok so it's not really the FULL video, its just the main section. Intro message, back-end birthday messages and outtakes have not been included because I had to reduce the file size significantly, as you will see shortly.
I think this would have to be THE WORST quality I've seen in an online clip EVER. So many lost frames, so many glitches, and if it plays the same as on my computer, the sound is slightly out of sync with the visuals. I promise the whole thing matched up perfectly in the original - Karina can vouch for that. *sigh*
Such a shame.
Apologies.
(Yep! just checked it, it's about 1.5 seconds out of sync by the time it reaches the end. Terrible.)

CITY DWELLINGS.
I took these photos a little over a month ago. I was in a strange mood at the time. Very much within my own head. I think it might of had something to do with my lack of direction, understanding and confidence. It was late afternoon. The lighting was amazing. I didn't want to talk to anyone so I took my camera and hung out at the corner between the VCA and ACCA. Then I went to the library and borrowed a brand new book on John Baldessari, entitled 'Pure Beauty'. (Don't be fooled, the man is NOT about pretty pictures). I now own that book.

Turns out I managed to photograph Tom Russell's new place, a month before I even understood where it was in the world. It's the top two balconys of that building right there in between the other two, in the middle of the photograph. The ones facing the gap. See it?

It's a 5 minute walk from my studio. It's got a view that shits all over my old Richmond view. It's in the middle of the city and it's BRILLIANT. There will be photos taken from his balcony. Soon. Once he finishes exams, I'll be there.
I'll be there.

THESE HOURLIES...
These hourlies are bringing me down. I didn't like the way I constructed the last hourly comic post (see: I'LL KEEP YOU POST-ITED) so I've done it differently this time. These are a few of the betterish ones from the past couple of weeks. I'm about 30 hours behind at the moment *sigh*. Too much time hourlying, not enough spent living.
These are in order, but they were taken in bits and pieces from different days.
Enjoy.

AN ASSORTMENT OF RECENT TIMES
Disposables round 3.
These were from a most delightful picnic VCA drawers had in Fitzroy gardens. Such a beautiful day. Picnic rug, picnic set, cheese, dip, red wine, fruit tart, plastic cricket, grape-catching party tricks, word games, ants, and a most amusing Kennedy memorial.

And the following include snapshots of a creative adventure day with Lara, a St Kilda night market expedition with Jennifer, Happy's birthday at hotel brighton, and a BBQ at Ellie's house.

I'LL KEEP YOU POST-ITED.
I started drawing hourly comics again at 9am on 1/1/10. The idea is to draw one comic square to describe something that happened during the hour, every waking hour. This was something that I kept up for a few months last year, but I was way too busy nearing assessment and had to stop.
Credit goes to Tom Craine for telling me the idea - it's something people do on one select day and then upload to an online forum, but I turned it into more of a diary thing and kept it up instead.
So these are some of the better ones I've done this year. Overall the quality of the content this year is much lower than that of last year. I'm hoping it's just a stage and that they'll get better. Sorry.

SAMPLE SIZE
The final destination was Devonport. I took sooooo many photos, most of which were quite similar. These are a few of the better ones, but as you can probably imagine, there really wasn't much variation between them all.
Ultimate frisbee.

Then I decided that legs were more interesting...

Natasha was lying on the grass reading her book, and I was lying about 20 metres away with my camera. Then Trussell decided to get in on the photo. In about 30 seconds flat, the scene had turned into a mass group photo of everyone mimicing Natasha's original pose.
I love these photos.
