I SAID I FUCKING LOVE YOU.

There's something strangely satisfying about having a quality DSLR camera and choosing to go with a disposable one instead.

January adventures to the Howqua river and Fitzroy gardens with Speer.

A massive THANK YOU to the modern day Mansfield and Howqua River heroes (hitch-hiker service, general area informer and all-round nice guy Camper Steve, Mr Local Postman, Guy the chair-doner from Patterson Lakes, Mr Backpacker Joint Owner, Mr NOO-DOH!!!, and Judy, the local cafe waitress) who made our trip as unpredictable and enjoyable as it was.

ASS ESSMENT

I'm not a huge fan of assessment. The idea that you can quantify the quality of an individuals work scares me. Turning a subjective opinion on a body of work into an accurate, numerical value seems like an impossible task. The criteria is (to an extent) abstract. Being judged on something you can't see or point to or completely understand is concerning, because there's no way of really knowing if you've achieved whatever it is that you set out to do.

My assessment at the end of last year was particularly scary. The process could be likened to blindly flinging shit at a wall with the hope that at least some of it would stick. I thought there was a fair chance that I might even fail. I don't fail. It scares me. I'm not sure why. I can't imagine I'd enjoy it and I don't want to try it on for size just yet.

Anyway, I didn't fail. And we all lived happily ever after.

Here's some shit that stuck.

YEP, I'M BACK.

Got some serious blogging to catch up on!
I got a new camera for Christmas. Pentax k-7. Shits all over my old (broken) camera, and then some.

"I'm", "I", "I". Blogs are incredibly self-indulgent, aren't they? Haha! Funny to think some people might actually give a crap about what I'm doing and thinking. I'm not about to get my hopes up.
NOT TO WORRY. I'M HAVING FUN, AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS, RIGHT??
Right.
I'm glad we're in agreeance - me, myself and I.

SO! First things last. Here's the most recent, then I'll go back and catch up on the backlog of stuff that's been left behind these past couple of months.

Spent a week in Coronet Bay with friends, and these shots are from a trip to Woolamai beach, about a 30 minute drive from where we were staying (even though there was a beach literally at our back door). New camera, of course.
